Earl "Bing" BARKS

     Bing tells of growing up as a farmer and pastor in Olive Township where he served for over 50 years as the Olive Township Supervisor and Assessor. He founded the DeWitt Grain Elevator and helped build the Restoration church of Christ in St. Johns where he served as pastor.   Others topics include Alward Lake, Muskrat Lake Dancehall, Olive Township churches and cemeteries, and the Olive Township Hall.  Transcript #123

   These interviews took place in 1988 during a museum exhibit on the Clinton County Normal School.  Ida (Davis) Williston graduated from Clinton County Normal in 1924 and taught at the Boak and Rochester Colony schools.  Frank Bishop graduated in 1931 and taught at the Cramer and Marshall schools.  They talk of attending Clinton County Normal and teaching in county one-room schools.      The Mazzolini sisters, Brunetta Graham and Mary Dunn, tell of growing up in St. Johns where their parents owned Bruno's Restaurant.  Brunetta and her brother Joseph were professional singers.  The Mazzolini family owns a statue company in Cleveland.  The picture on the left is of a statue created by their grandfather over 100 years ago.
